Six Ways to Promote Your Blog Post After you hit publish you probably start working on the next blog posts but if you want to get the word out about the awesome post you just published it is important to spend a little time scheduling some promotion for it. We're talking about six different ways to promote your blog posts, the first few are essential while the rest are things you should do regularly but not necessarily for every single post. Let's dive in. 1 – Social Media The first thing you should do as soon as you publish a new post is share it on your favorite social media sites. Be it Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumbler, or any of the other social media sites. Then start sharing your content each time you publish a post. And don’t forget to go back and share older posts as well. We like to schedule our social shares using SocialPilot. The time it takes to schedule across multiple platforms makes up for the monthly fee. You can set up schedules for your social accounts and even have it auto-populate using your RSS feed. There are always ways you can reschedule content you've used and analytics to see what posts did best. We've used a lot of tools including Hootsuite, Buffer and CoSchedule and this is the favorite. 2 – Email I wasn’t kidding when I said a few days ago that list building was important. Email is another great way to send out new blog posts to your list. You can include a link to your post in a weekly newsletter, simply add a little info about the topic and a link to your autoresponder messages. You can also set up emails to go out everytime a post is published, in MailChimp this is called RSS-to-email and they have some great tutorials to help get it set up. 3 – Blog Comments Find a few related blogs and make quality comments on them. In the URL field, link to your new blog post. It’s an easy way to get links and traffic back to your site. It may not be the most effective link building strategy but it will get your posts out there and make connections with other bloggers and possibly their readers. 4 – Guest Blog Posts As you start to build relationships with other bloggers in your niche, offer to write guest blog posts for them. Pick one of your more popular or profitable blog posts and use it along with your main blog URL in the author resource box – or even better, work the link to your blog post naturally in the content of your guest post. 5 – Videos and Life Streaming With YouTube, and Facebook and Instagram, it’s never been easier to get into video content. Record a short video about your blog post and share it along with a link to your post. Don’t forget to invite readers to read the post in your video. 6 – Webinars and Podcasts This one might be a stretch for most people, but it is rewarding. Consider going on webinars and podcats to promote your blog and individual blog posts, this is a great way to broaden your reach and share a little of your expertise with a new audience.
